Palermo: Luci sull’arte

Contestants, together with architects Giovanni Cusumano and Dario Valentino, in the international competition held by the Municipality of Palermo for the lighting design project of the monuments part of the “Arab-Norman itinerary” – UNESCO World Heritage site.

The project spans from the detail level of each single monument to a general Masterplan that embraces them all. Seven sites in the scope of works: Palazzo dei Normanni, Church of San Giovanni degli Eremiti, Cathedral of Palermo, Church of Santa Maria dell’Ammiraglio, Church of San Cataldo, Zisa’s castle, and Ponte dell’Ammiraglio.

Light has been imagined according to their singular, peculiar characteristics, in order to obtain a result that enhanced their beauty while respecting the historical meaning and importance of the monuments and their environment.
